Jo Webber is originally from London, England, now living in the Los Angeles area. She is the CEO and founder of Virtual Piggy.
Jo Webber holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Mechanics, and is a Chartered Chemist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Webber's academic career includes research on thienopyridine isomers, publicized in the ''Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM''.

Webber founded Virtual Piggy a payment technology company specializing in under 18's.. The company provides a fully COPPA compliant online payment option to merchants, allowing them to safely accept payments from teens and tweens. She also served as CEO and as a member of the board of directors of Energy Solutions International Inc., a provider of complex software solutions for the world's major energy companies.〔 During her tenure at Energy Solutions International, she led the company through two strategic acquisitions, one of which involved the acquisition of a division of a public company and the other, which involved the acquisition of a private company. Webber led the sale of ESI in 2010.
Prior to her time at Energy Solutions International Inc., Webber served as CEO of InnaPhase Corporation, a provider of enterprise-class software solutions to the global pharmaceutical industry. Under her management, the company was restructured and returned to profitability, and acquired a division of Beckman Coulter. The growth was attributed in part to the introduction of a new software application, which was aimed at the manufacturing centers of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.〔http://www.thermoscientific.de/eThermo/CMA/PDFs/Various/File_25870.pdf〕 Following the software's release and success, Webber led the acquisition of InnaPhase by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2004.
Following the acquisition, Webber served as a Vice President and General Manager of Informatics for Thermo Fisher.
